Tiger Woods‘ first public appearance in nearly three months is apparently worthy of ‘Special Report’ status.
ABC, CBS and NBC will each preempt regularly scheduled programming to air Woods’ public statement on Friday morning.
CBS Evening News host Katie Couric will anchor CBS’ coverage, Good Morning America co-hosts Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos will anchor for ABC, and Today Show co-host Matt Lauer will anchor NBC’s coverage from Vancouver, site of the ongoing 2010 Winter Olympics.
In addition, cable news networks CNN, HLN, MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News and Fox Business Channel will air Woods’ statement.
ESPN will also devote extensive coverage, with ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews, ESPN.com, ESPN Radio and ESPN Mobile carrying Woods’ comments live. Mike Tirico and Tom Rinaldi will be live from Florida, while reporter Colleen Dominguez will report from the site of the Accenture Match Play Championship.
