The Celtics/Cavaliers series continued to draw big numbers on TNT Monday night.
Monday’s Celtics/Cavaliers Game 2 drew a 3.5 U.S. rating and 5.5 million viewers on TNT, up 21% in ratings and 26% in viewership from Magic/Celtics Game 1 last year (2.9, 4.4 mil), and up 79% and 102%, respectively, from Magic/Pistons Game 2 in ’08 (1.9, 2.7 mil).
Game 2 stands as the highest rated and second-most viewed playoff game on cable this year.
For perspective, Cavaliers/Celtics Game 2 in 2008 drew a 2.2 and 3.1 million viewers.
Meanwhile, Game 1 between the Spurs and Suns drew a 2.7 and 4.1 million viewers, down 25% in ratings and 24% in viewership from Rockets/Lakers Game 1 last year (3.6, 5.4 mil), and down 7% and 4%, respectively, from Spurs/Hornets Game 2 in ’08 (2.9, 4.3 mil).
