FOX hit a nine-year high in ratings and viewership for Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV pregame show.
Over four hours of pregame coverage earned a 11.5 fast-national rating and 22.2 million viewers on FOX Sunday afternoon, the highest rated, most-viewed Super Bowl pregame since 2002 (12.3, 23.3M, FOX).
Ratings for pregame coverage increased 16% from last year (9.9, CBS).
For some perspective, the pregame show drew a higher rating and more viewers than every game of the 2010 World Series, and all-but-one game each of the 2010 NCAA Tournament, 2010 NBA Finals, and 2011 Bowl Championship Series. The pregame also drew more viewers than all-but-one match of the 2010 World Cup.
Postgame coverage earned a 28.0 rating and 66 million viewers, down 14% in ratings from last year (33.0, CBS).
