ESPN’s early round coverage of The Masters was down from last year, when Tiger Woods‘ return to golf attracted big numbers.
Second round coverage of The Masters drew 3.500 million viewers on ESPN Friday afternoon, down 10% from last year (3.9M), but flat compared to 2009 and 2008.
The modest decline for Friday’s coverage came one day after Thursday’s opening round action plummeted from last year.
ESPN earned 2.550 million for first round coverage on Thursday, down 48% from last year’s record-setting coverage (4.936M), and down 24% from 2009 (3.466M).
Keep in mind that ESPN aired an additional hour of Masters coverage on both Thursday and Friday this year.
