The Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings both hit season-highs on Monday night. In other news, MSG Network had a big increase for the Knicks’ first round series against the Celtics, and the Pacers’ first round match-up against the Hawks gave Fox Sports Indiana a double-digit lift as well.
Wings, Kings, Hit Highs on Local TV
- Game 4 of the Ducks/Red Wings first round Stanley Cup playoff series drew a 12.9 rating on Fox Sports Detroit Monday night, the network’s highest Red Wings rating since Red Wings/Sharks Game 7 in 2011 (22.5). The same night, Game 4 between the Blues and the Kings drew a 1.8 rating on Fox Sports West in Los Angeles, a season-high. (Fox Sports)
MSG Scores 40% Increase For Knicks/Celtics
- The Knicks/Celtics first round NBA playoff series averaged a 3.68 rating on MSG Network in the New York market (four telecasts), up 40% from last year’s Heat/Knicks coverage on the network (2.63, three telecasts). Keep in mind the MSG Network telecasts ‘co-existed’ with national telecasts on TNT and ESPN. (Madison Square Garden)
Pacers’ First Round Up on FS Midwest
- The Pacers/Hawks first round NBA playoff series averaged a 6.34 rating on Fox Sports Indiana (three telecasts), up 16% from last year’s comparable Pacers/Magic series on the network (5.49). Keep in mind that FS Midwest only aired games that were not picked up by TNT or ESPN, meaning that none of the network’s three telecasts had to ‘co-exist’ with a national broadcast.
