The unpredictable nature of the 2013 NBA Draft more than made up for the lack of big name players.
First and second round coverage of the NBA Draft earned a 2.6 overnight rating on ESPN Thursday night, up 13% from last year (2.3), and up a tick from 2011 (2.5).
The 2.6 overnight is tied with 2007 as the highest for the NBA Draft since 2003 (2.7), when LeBron James was the #1 pick.
Thursday’s overnight peaked at a 3.3 from 8:30 to 8:45 PM ET.
Louisville was the top market for the NBA Draft, with a 6.9 rating. Memphis (5.6) ranked second, with Cleveland (5.0), Indianapolis (4.7), and Oklahoma City (4.3) rounding out the top five.
