For the fifth straight week, ratings and viewership dipped for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.”
The Week 6 Colts/Chargers “Monday Night Football” game had a 7.7 U.S. rating and 12.0 million viewers on ESPN, down 6% in ratings and 7% in viewership from Broncos/Chargers last year (8.2, 12.8M), and down 1% in both measures from Jets/Dolphins in 2011 (7.8, 12.1M).
This marks the fifth straight “MNF” telecast to have a decline from last year.
So far this season, 12 of the 19 primetime NFL telecast windows on NBC, ESPN and NFL Network have had declines in ratings and 11 have had declines in viewership.
Among adults 18-49, Monday’s game earned a 4.7 rating — down 10% from last year (5.2), and down 6% from 2011 (5.0).
