NBC Hires Burton For NASCAR Coverage
- NBC Sports Group announced Tuesday the hiring of former NASCAR driver Jeff Burton as a NASCAR analyst for NBC and NBC Sports Network. Burton will serve as a contributor to NBCSN in 2014 before joining NBC and NBCSN full-time in 2015, when the networks begin airing NASCAR coverage. (NBC Sports Group Press Box)
NBC News’ Holt to Anchor Weekday Olympic Coverage on NBC
- NBC News anchor Lester Holt will host weekday coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics on the NBC broadcast network, replacing Al Michaels in that role. As previously announced, Michaels will anchor weekday coverage on NBCSN. NBC Sports has also named Dan Patrick and EPL anchor Rebecca Lowe as studio hosts for the Olympics. Garciaparra to Join New L.A. RSN; Hershiser Next?
- According to the Los Angeles Times, the new regional sports network SportsNet LA has hired ESPN MLB analyst Nomar Garciaparra for pre-and-postgame coverage of Dodgers games.
