A battle of surprising teams led FOX to a strong performance for the NFL singleheader window.
The Week 9 NFL singleheader, featuring Cardinals/Cowboys in 63% of markets, drew 22.3 million viewers on FOX last Sunday — up 11% from coverage featuring Vikings/Cowboys last year (20.1M) and the most-watched singleheader on any network since Week 15 in 2011 (23.4M). Ratings for the telecast were not immediately available.
The singleheader drew the second-largest NFL audience of Week 9, trailing only the national window on CBS (29.1M) and finishing comfortably ahead of Sunday Night Football (18.6M). This marks the second time this season that the singleheader earned a larger audience than SNF.
The Cowboys have now been featured in the season’s most-watched singleheader, national window, and Monday Night Football game.
