The undefeated Kentucky Wildcats continued to move the needle for ESPN over the weekend.
The Kentucky/Florida college basketball game drew 3.3 million viewers on ESPN Saturday night, up 312% from Gonzaga/Memphis last year (794K) and up 61% from a five overtime Louisville/Notre Dame game in 2013 (2.0M).
The Wildcats’ win ranks as the third-most watched game of the season on the ESPN family of networks, trailing only Duke/Virginia the previous week (3.5M) and Kentucky/Louisville on ESPN2 in December (3.5M).
Including Kentucky/Kansas in the Champions Classic (2.7M), Kentucky has now played in three of the season’s four most-watched games on the ESPN networks.
In other action last Saturday, Louisville/Virginia drew 2.1 million viewers — up 57% from Duke/Boston College last year (1.3M) and up 60% from Pittsburgh/Cincinnati in 2013 (1.3M).
