For the first time in a dozen years, an NBA game will air start-to-finish on TBS.
The 2015 NBA All-Star Game will air on both TNT and TBS February 15, marking the first time the event has been simulcast across two networks, and the first full NBA broadcast on TBS since the 2003 postseason.
TBS aired national NBA games from 1984 to 2002, but was left out of the mix in the NBA’s 2002 television deal with ESPN/ABC and TNT.
Since losing rights to the league, the network has been used only for overflow coverage of playoff games. The lone exception was 2003, when it aired a Game 6 doubleheader in the first round of the playoffs.
