Soft Numbers For USA Women’s Soccer Victory Tour
- Last Sunday’s United States/Costa Rica women’s soccer friendly, the first USA match since the Women’s World Cup, earned 315,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 — ranking fourth out of the 11 USWNT friendlies televised this year. Big Gains For U.S. Swimming Championships on NBC
- Coverage of the U.S. Swimming Championships drew a 0.7 final rating and 1.0 million viewers on NBC last Sunday, up 40% in ratings and 55% in viewership from coverage in a later timeslot last year (0.5, 660K). It should be noted that NBC aired an additional day of coverage last year, scoring a 0.5 and 636,000 for a Saturday window. Sunday’s telecast finished comfortably ahead of the FINA World Swimming Championships the previous weekend, which drew a 0.5 and 622,000 on August 8 and a 0.4 and 630 on August 9. Ratings, Viewership, Rise For Men’s Gymnastics
- NBC drew a 0.8 final rating and 1.4 million viewers for the men’s competition at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships last Sunday, up a tick in ratings and 15% in viewership from last year (0.7, 1.2M) and up a third and 45%, respectively, from 2013 (0.6, 955K). Excluding Olympic years, ratings and viewership were the highest for the men’s competition since 2011 (0.9, 1.5M). (Nielsen)
