Overnight ratings dipped for the NFL singleheader on FOX.
The Week 4 NFL singleheader window, featuring Seahawks/Bengals in 39% of markets, drew an 11.7 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon — down 9% from coverage featuring Cardinals/Broncos last year (12.8) and down 6% from coverage featuring Saints/Bears in 2013 (12.5). The 11.7 is the lowest for the Week 5 singleheader since 2011 (10.7).
Sunday’s telecast continued a recent slump for FOX, which has had a decline for all four of its NFL telecasts since Week 2. Each of those telecasts has hit a multi-year low.
It also continued a slow start for the singleheader window, which has declined in three of five weeks this season. Overall, 11 of the 31 NFL telecasts this season have had a decline in the metered markets, including each of the last four on FOX.
