Overnight ratings dropped for both games of Sunday’s NFL doubleheader on CBS.
The Week 12 Steelers/Seahawks NFL national window drew a 16.7 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, down 4% from coverage featuring Dolphins/Broncos last year (17.4) and down 12% from Cowboys/Giants on FOX in 2013 (18.9). Overnights for the national window have now dropped in eight of 12 weeks this season.
Despite the drop, the 16.7 is the second-highest of the season for the NFL on CBS and tied as the sixth-highest on any network. The Seahawks’ win also scored the highest overnight of the day, topping Patriots/Broncos on NBC’s Sunday Night Football (16.2).
The early doubleheader window had a 7.8 overnight, down 24% from last year (10.3) and down 20% from coverage featuring Panthers/Dolphins on FOX in 2013 (9.8). Excluding the 9:30 AM ET games from London, the 7.8 is the lowest overnight of the season for the NFL on a broadcast network.
