Cavaliers, Mavericks, Hit Highs For Matchup
- Tuesday’s Cavaliers/Mavericks NBA regular season game scored a 12.67 rating on Fox Sports Ohio, the network’s second-highest ever for Cavaliers coverage. A 2009 Cavaliers/76ers game holds the top spot with a 14.09. Cavaliers games are now averaging a 9.42 rating on FS Ohio, on pace to set a network record. In Dallas-Ft. Worth, the game posted a season-high 3.1 rating on FS Southwest. Mavericks games are now averaging a 1.9 on the network, up 18%. (Crain’s Cleveland, Ft. Worth Star-Telegram)
NBA Wednesday Down on ESPN
- ESPN drew a 0.8 final rating and 1.2 million viewers for Heat/Clippers Wednesday night, down 20% in ratings and 15% in viewership from Clippers/Blazers last year (1.0, 1.4M) and flat and up 2%, respectively, compared to Nuggets/Warriors in 2014 (0.8, 1.2M). Earlier in the night, Pacers/Celtics also had a 0.8 and 1.2 million — down 20% in ratings and 11% in viewership from Wizards/Bulls last year (1.0, 1.3M) and up a tick and 20%, respectively, from Jazz/Spurs in ’14 (0.7, 996K). NBCSN Posts Gains For Bruins/Flyers
- Wednesday’s Bruins/Flyers NHL regular season game earned a 0.3 final rating and 503,000 viewers on NBCSN, up a tick in ratings and 53% in viewership from Flyers/Capitals last year (0.2, 329K), and down a tick (0.4 to 0.3) and up 1% (499K to 503K), respectively, from Rangers/Blackhawks in 2014. In other action, Lightning/Avalanche had 183,000 the previous night (-14%) and Devils/Wild scored 257K on Sunday (+7%). Going back to last Thursday, Flyers/Wild had 299,000.
