The Patriots and Jets lifted the season’s final NFL singleheader.
The Week 16 NFL singleheader window, featuring Patriots/Jets in 41% of markets, drew 17.6 million viewers on CBS December 27 — up 9% from coverage featuring Falcons/Saints last year (16.2M) but down 20% from coverage featuring Saints/Panthers or Giants/Lions in 2013 (21.9M), both of which aired on FOX. Ratings were not immediately available.
The telecast scored the third-largest audience a singleheader on CBS this season, trailing only coverage in Week 7 (19.2M) and Week 14 (18.6M). Overall, however, it ranked just 11th out of the sixteen singleheader windows — trailing all eight on FOX.
Viewership nearly matched NBC’s Sunday Night Football, which posted a season-low 17.9 million viewers in Week 16.
