Buddy Hield‘s starpower was canceled out by Oregon’s relative anonymity.
Oklahoma/Oregon in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight drew a 5.1 overnight rating on CBS Saturday evening, down 11% from Wisconsin/Arizona last year (5.7) but up 11% from Florida/Dayton in 2014 (4.6). Compared to Syracuse/Marquette in 2013, the last time the window aired on CBS, overnights increased 9% from a 4.7.
The 5.1 overnight is the second-highest for the early Saturday Elite Eight window in the past five years, since Butler/Florida in 2011 (6.2). Only last year’s game had a higher overnight over that span.
For the weekend, the Sooners’ win ranked third out of the four Elite Eight games — ahead of only Syracuse/Virginia on TBS the following night (4.9).
