The NCAA Tournament continued to post declines over the weekend.
Villanova/Kansas in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight earned a 7.4 overnight rating on CBS Saturday night, down 18% from Kentucky/Notre Dame last year (9.0) but up 25% from Wisconsin/Arizona in 2014 (5.9), both of which aired on TBS. Overnights also increased 7% from Wichita State/Ohio State in 2013, the last time the window aired on CBS (6.9).
The Wildcats’ win earned the highest overnight of Elite Eight weekend, ranking comfortably ahead of North Carolina/Notre Dame the following night (6.6). Last year, the top game of the round had a much higher 9.9 overnight.
The 7.4 is also the highest overnight of the NCAA Tournament for an individual game, topping Indiana/Kentucky in the second round one week earlier (6.9).
