Tafoya to Work Olympic Swimming on NBC
- Lead NBC NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya will serve in the same capacity on the network’s Olympic swimming coverage, it was announced Tuesday. The news was first reported by Sporting News. Tafoya replaces Andrea Kremer in that role. It is her first non-studio Olympic assignment since she covered rhythmic gymnastics and softball in 2000. (NBC Sports Group Press Box)
Strahan Makes Good Morning America His Day Job
- Fox NFL Sunday analyst Michael Strahan is leaving his position as co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael to join ABC’s Good Morning America full-time. Strahan replaced Regis Philbin on Live! in 2012 and added part-time duties on GMA in 2014. His new duties will not affect his role on FOX. (Deadline)
TNT’s Webber Out With Back Pain
- TNT NBA analyst Chris Webber has missed his first two assignments of the NBA Playoffs due to back pain, according to Sports Illustrated reporter Richard Deitsch. Webber was replaced by Kevin McHale on Sunday’s Spurs/Clippers Game 1 and by Mike Fratello on Monday’s Rockets/Warriors Game 2.
