The toppling of a 67-win team did little to move the needle Thursday night.
Game 6 of the Spurs/Thunder NBA playoff series had a 3.3 final rating and 5.2 million viewers on ESPN Thursday night, down 21% in ratings and viewership from Cavaliers/Bulls last year (4.2, 6.6M) and even down a 6% and 2%, respectively, from Pacers/Wizards in 2014 (3.5, 5.3M).
Oklahoma City’s blowout win scored the largest audience of the series, edging Game 2 (5.23M to 5.20M).
For the night, Game 6 was tied as the second-highest rated program of the night among adults 18-49 (2.1), matching Grey’s Anatomy on ABC and behind The Big Bang Theory on CBS (3.4).
The following night, Game 6 of Raptors/Heat had 3.7 million viewers — up 22% from Hawks/Wizards last year (3.1M).
