IndyCar Hits Cable High at Pocono
- IndyCar Series racing from Pocono (Pa.) earned a 0.40 rating and 618,000 viewers on NBCSN last Sunday afternoon, down 11% in ratings and 3% in viewership from 2015 (0.45, 635K). Last year’s race was postponed due to rain. Despite the lower numbers, it was the most-watched race of the season on cable.
NASCAR Xfinity Dips at Bristol
- Last Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race from Bristol (Tenn.) drew a 0.7 rating and 1.1 million viewers on NBCSN, down a tick in ratings and 8% in viewership from last year, when coverage aired opposite the Olympics on USA Network (0.8, 1.2M). Compared to 2015 on NBCSN, viewership fell 14% from 1.3 million.
NHRA Low at Brainerd
- NHRA eliminations from Brainerd (Minn.) earned a 0.27 rating and 412,000 viewers on Fox Sports 1 last Sunday, down 7% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (0.29, 452K) and down 34% and 30% respectively from 2015 on ESPN2 (0.41, 591K). It was the third-smallest eliminations audience this season.
