The 2008 MLB All-Star Game averaged an 8.6 rating for the full game (8:42 PM-1:37 AM) — a 9.3 for the first nine innings (8:42-11:42 PM) and a 7.5 for the remainder of the game (11:42 PM-1:37 AM).

Every MLB All-Star Game since ’02 has failed to draw a double-digit rating. To put that in perspective, the game failed to draw a double-digit rating only once from 1950 to 2001.

The All-Star Game hit a peak rating of 28.5 in 1970, and fell to an all-time low 8.1 in 2005. In 1951, the game had an unfathomably high 89 share, meaning 89% of televisions in use were tuned to the game.
