After a poor outing in Week 1, the NFL on CBS scored strong ratings during Week 2.
Regional coverage featuring Steelers/Bears drew a 15.4 overnight rating on CBS late Sunday afternoon, up slightly over a 15.2 for Patriots/Jets on the comparable day last year, and up 34% from an 11.5 for Chiefs/Bears in ’07.
The 15.4 overnight is the second-highest of the young NFL season, behind only a 16.5 for Giants/Cowboys on Sunday night.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Patriots/Jets drew an 11.4 overnight, up 19% from last year, and the highest regular season overnight in the 1 PM window since Week 17 last season (12.1).
Overall, CBS averaged a 13.4 overnight for its Week 2 doubleheader. By comparison, FOX averaged a 12.2 for its Week 1 doubleheader.
