In what will likely be the last positive NBA headline for the next several months, the 2011 NBA Draft hit a four-year high in overnight ratings on ESPN.
Thursday’s NBA Draft earned a 2.5 overnight rating on ESPN, up 9% from last year (2.3), and the highest overnight for the event since 2007 (2.6).
Keep in mind the 2007 NBA Draft was one of the most-hyped in recent memory, as star freshmen Greg Oden and Kevin Durant were selected as the top two picks.
Cleveland was the top market for the NBA Draft, with a 5.6 rating. Salt Lake City (5.0), San Antonio (4.6), Indianapolis (4.6) and Chicago (3.9) rounded out the top five.
