College football’s season debut on CBS was down in ratings and viewership compared to last year.
Last Saturday’s Tennessee/#16 Florida game earned a 3.0 final rating and 4.616 million viewers on CBS, down 9% in ratings and 10% in viewership from last year (UF/TEN: 3.3, 5.149M), and down 30% in both measures compared to 2009 (TEN/UF: 4.3, 6.620M).
Though down from last year, Florida’s win was the second-most viewed college football game on broadcast last week, topping games on ABC and NBC. Only the titanic #1 Oklahoma/#5 Florida State game (9.307M) drew more viewers.
