The second round of the NBA Playoffs concluded with strong numbers on ESPN.
Game 6 of the Thunder/Clippers second round NBA playoff series drew 6.4 million viewers on ESPN Thursday night, up 69% from Spurs/Warriors last year (3.8M) and the most-viewed game of the playoffs on cable. The Thunder/Clippers series accounted for the top three games on cable during the first two rounds, and six of the top seven involved at least one of the teams.
Thunder/Clippers was the #2 program of the night on television among adults 18-49 (2.8), trailing only the season finale of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory (4.9).
Earlier Thursday night, Game 6 of the Pacers/Wizards series drew 5.3 million viewers — up 16% from Pacers/Knicks Game 5 on TNT last year (4.6M), down 23% from Heat/Pacers Game 6 in 2012 (6.9M), and easily the top draw of the series.
The Pacers/Wizards finale earned the eighth-largest cable audience of the playoffs, and the second-largest for an Eastern Conference game.
