Turner Sports’ Craig Sager hopes to be back on an NBA sideline early next year.
A lengthy profile of Sager on NBA.com revealed that the sideline reporter has targeted February for his return to television. Outside of a taped message during the recent Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, he has not appeared on television since he was diagnosed with leukemia last April.
Sager is now in full remission, though he is not expected “to receive clearance to fly until January” (NBA.com, 11/27).
This season will be Sager’s 23rd as a sideline reporter for the NBA on TNT.
