- Wednesday’s Blackhawks/Red Wings NHL regular season game scored a 0.5 final rating and 848,000 viewers on NBCSN, up a tick in ratings and 26% in viewership from Rangers/Red Wings last year (0.4, 675K) and up 67% and 104%, respectively, from Capitals/Flyers in 2014 (0.3, 416K). The Blackhawks’ win ranks as the most-watched game on cable since Opening Night. On Tuesday, Penguins/Capitals drew a 0.3 and 465,000 — up 200% in ratings and 164% in viewership from Sabres/Lightning last year (0.1, 176K) and up 200% and 118%, respectively, from Lightning/Blues in ’14 (0.1, 213K).
ESPN Posts Gains For Wednesday NBA Doubleheader
- The Thunder/Clippers NBA regular season game drew a 1.0 final rating and 1.5 million viewers on ESPN Wednesday night, up a tick in ratings and 10% in viewership from Blazers/Clippers last year (0.9, 1.3M) and up 43% and 64%, respectively, from Hawks/Blazers in 2014 (0.7, 890K). Pistons/Spurs delivered a 0.9 and 1.4 million in the early window, up a tick in ratings and 20% in viewership from Lakers/Heat last year (0.8, 1.1M) and up 29% and 36%, respectively, from Mavericks/Nuggets in ’14 (0.7, 996K).
NASCAR Xfinity Down, Truck Series Up, at Atlanta
- NASCAR Xfinity Series racing from Atlanta hard 1.4 million viewers on Fox Sports 1 Saturday afternoon, down 5% from last year (1.5M). Later in the day, Truck Series racing from the same location scored 1.2 million — actually up 1% from last year (1.16M to 1.15M).
