- Hours after the death of Norm Van Lier, the Chicago Bulls’ inaugural coach and longtime analyst Johnny ‘Red’ Kerr dies at the age of 76. Kerr’s death comes days after he was honored at halftime of a Bulls game.

- Final ratings: the final round of the Northern Trust Open draws a 3.3, tied as the highest rating for a PGA Tour event since Tiger Woods’ injury. Meanwhile, ABC draws a 2.1 for Celtics/Suns, up 11% from ’08. Finally, NBC draws a 0.9 for Penguins/Capitals; for the season, NBC’s NHL ratings are up 9% from last year.
