Facing some heavy-duty competition, overnight ratings for NASCAR’s All-Star Race held steady on Saturday night.
Speed Channel drew a 2.1 overnight rating for Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, even with last year. Saturday’s race aired opposite Game 3 of the Magic/Celtics Eastern Conference Finals on ESPN (4.4) and primetime Major League Baseball on FOX (3.6).
The 2.1 overnight is the second-lowest of the season for any NASCAR Sprint Cup telecast, ahead of only Daytona 500 Pole Qualifying on FOX in February (1.6).
Keep in mind that Speed Channel is in approximately 80 million households, well below FOX (appx. 115 million) or ESPN (appx. 100 million).
Despite the relatively low numbers, Saturday’s race topped both NHL Conference Final telecasts on NBC (1.6 Saturday and 2.0 Sunday) as well as the UEFA Champions League Final on FOX (1.1).
